Danie and Martin are experts in their industry and have a wealth of experience and knowledge behind them. They are passionate about offering exceptional legal services and advice and have curated a team of passionate individuals with strengths that reflect that.
Danie Potgieter
Partner
Danie Potgieter obtained his B.Com and LLB at RAU University and did his Master’s Degree (LLM) in Income tax, specialising in tax avoidance and tax evasion. He obtained his postgraduate diploma in Labour law and became a partner at LOUW & HEYL ATTORNEYS in 1982.
He has served as a Commissioner of the small claims court since its inception in 1986 and is presently serving on the Legal Practice’s Council Disciplinary and Examination panel, which he has been doing for approximately 25 years.

Specialises in: Labour law, Property law, Matrimonial law and Law of Contracts.
Martin Strydom
Partner
Martin Strydom obtained his B.Proc and LLB at RAU University. He was admitted as an Attorney and Notary on 17th December 1987 and was a State prosecutor in Boksburg from 1983-1985. He has served as a commissioner of the small claims court for the past 25 years and obtained his diploma in Trust law, and Insolvency Law.
He became a partner at LOUW & HEYL Attorneys in 1990 and passed his conveyancing examination in 1991.
Specialises in: Conveyancing, Sectional Title Development and Property law.

Jaco Van Staden
Qualifications: Jaco obtained his LLB on 3 October 2012 and was admitted as an attorney on 11 August 2014. He obtained his right of appearance in the High Court of South Africa on 23 January 2015.
Specialises in: Evictions, Rental Claims, Levy Collections, General Litigation, Commercial Litigation, Drafting of Commercial Agreements, Trusts, Family Law.
Chanika Gray
Qualifications: Chanika obtained her LLB from North-West University on 16 February 2016. She was admitted as an attorney in March 2018 and as a Notary Public in November 2020.
Specialises in: Family and Matrimonial law, High Court and Magistrate and Civil Litigation, Commercial law, Drafting of Agreements and Third Party and Injury Claims.
Danelle Van Byleveld
Qualifications: Danelle obtained her LLB from the University of South Africa in 2015. She was admitted as an Attorney in 2017 and as a conveyancer in 2019.
Specialises in: Property Transfers, Bond registrations and Bond cancellations.
Charmaine Teasdale

Serena specialises in labour relations and employment disputes where she has assisted the likes of the National Union of Metalworkers SA and the National Union for Mineworkers with disputes concerning large scale retrenchment, mass strike actions, pension fund and workplace discrimination. She also maintains vast experience in Road Accident Fund claims and litigation as well as commercial disputes.
